Tuffytastic Saturdays: Tuffy Tiger Productions of Charleston & Flowertown Theatre - He’s cute, clever and almost five. He’s Tuffy Tiger and he’s coming to Flowertown! Tuffytiger Productions, a 501c3 nonprofit theatre is collaborating with Flowertown Players of Summerville to produce Tuffytastic Saturdays! Live-action puppet-based performances featuring the little orange tiger, Tuffy. The series of free 30-minute performances will be filled with multiple puppets and original music and will be showcased on the first Saturday of each month with the next performances February 4th and March 4th at 11 a.m. in the Flowertown Players Blackbox Theatre. After each performance young audiences will be invited to create puppets of their very own and meet n’ greet with Tuffy.

Quilts of Valor Sit and Sew: 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Feb. 13, Mar. 13 and April 10. People, Places and Quilts, 129 W. Richardson Ave., Summerville. Join us for the Quilts of Valor Sit and Sew to work on quilts. Bring your own projects to donate or work on kits donated to the foundation. A great way to socialize and work for a great cause. St. John the Beloved Special Event: St. John the Beloved Catholic Church is excited to be hosting internationally acclaimed speaker and author Chris Stefanick on February 15th at 7:00pm. The house of worship is located at 28 Sumter Ave in Summerville. Tickets are $39. The Group Rate (Minimum 4+ Tickets) is $30. 

Public Works Art Center Stroll #3: 6:30-8:00 p.m., Feb. 25. PWAC, 135 West Richardson Ave., Summerville. The Summerville Orchestra third free “arts-mersive” experience in partnership with the Public Works Arts Center is titled “Water in Color.” This performance will feature works by composers from around the world exploring themes of water, color palettes and the portrayal of daily life, to be paired with the work of featured PWAC artist Andrea Hazel. Registration for the event is required and is open on a first-come, first-served basis. S.O.’s PWAC Stroll events will also be held in May. Grandparents at Prayer: Meetings will be the second Monday of each month beginning at 10 a.m. on Nov. 14 at the Old St. Paul’s church building on West Carolina Ave. If you are a grandparent consider joining other grandparents as they come together for guided prayer and fellowship. On the third Thursday of each month, Historic Downtown Summerville transforms into a special marketplace featuring local entertainment, craft vendors and artisans. Local shops and restaurants have extended hours. Due to COVID-19, events have been updated to support social distancing and to provide a more mindful experience. Sewing Machine Maintenance: 10 a.m.-2 p.m, every Monday. People, Places & Quilts, 129 W. Richardson Ave., Summerville. By appointment only. Please call PPQ at 843-871-8872 to reserve your spot. Melanie, sewing machine repair technician, will be available to answer maintenance and quick repair questions. Please bring your sewing machine, cord and foot control. If you have an issue that can be addressed in 15 minutes, her goal is to have you sewing again without having to wait so long for service or repair. There is no charge for this service. If your issue requires further service or repair, then you can be placed on her service waiting list.

Open Sewing: 1:15-4:15 p.m., every Thursday. People, Places & Quilts, 129 W. Richardson Ave., Summerville. $5 per person. Class size is limited to six people. “Problems Solved Friday” sewing sessions to suit your needs. Need help with a project or kit? Stories on the Square: 9:30-10 a.m., every Wednesday. Main Street Reads, 115 S. Main St., Summerville. Free event for kids of all ages. Join Ashley Bohinc for outdoor story time adventures. The event is held outside to ensure proper social distancing. Lots of chairs available for younger listeners, hoola-hoops for distancing and plenty of juice boxes and snacks to munch on while they listen. Student discounts to all attendees.
