Local resident's boating trip video gets 11 million

This screenshot of Jennifer Wadford’s video shows a 12-year-old boy dancing on a boat. It gained more than 11 million views.

Jennifer Wadford became an overnight celebrity on the waters of Lake Marion.

Wadford, a Moncks Corner resident who actively works with the Berkeley football program, was boating with friends when a young boy in another boat pulled up beside her.

Rapper 21 Savage’s song “Bank Account” blared through speakers. The young boy started dancing. A woman hyped him up from behind.

“So this random kid near us was dancing up a storm today. He floated over to our boats and danced with us, LOL. Got to give it to the kid, he’s got some moves,” Wadford tweeted with the recording.

The child entertained guests with the popular “Floss Dance,” a crave that originated with Instagram-famous 16-year-old Russell Horning who popularized the move on Saturday Night Live. He mixed in some versions of rapper Blocboy JB’s “the shoot” dance which debuted in the artist’s 2017 hit.

The Floss became even more popular through the survival game Fortnite played on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Wadford’s June 9 tweet took off – making way into hip hop community when rapper 50 Cent shared it on his Instagram – gaining 4.2 million views alone. Her original 38-second clip racked up 11.7 million views in five days with almost 60,000 retweets and 151,000 likes.

Twitter users commended the child’s style with a slew of laughing emojis, GIFS and memes in the comment section.

“This video is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my life” tweeted Mzwandile Nxasana.

“This is the best video EVER. Kid kills it,” OpTicJadson said. “I’ve seen this video probably 100 times, still amazing.”

But there’s more to the child than his dance moves. Wadford explained in a follow-up tweet that the young stud was born with Cartilage-hair Hypoplasia – a form of dwarfism that limits bone growth.

This July will make five years since Brarron obtained a bone marrow transplant, Wadford said. His sister was his donor.

“His mom says he’s a happy, typical boy that likes music, dancing, and video games,” Wadford tweeted.
