Rockstar Cheer Charleston just opened a new location in Nexton at 1270 Dropoff Dr. A grand opening celebration is planned 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Along with food trucks, a bounce house, tumble clinic, vendors and giveaways, the Stingray’s and River Dogs mascots will be on site. Two Girls and a Guy from Mix 99.5 are scheduled to live broadcast from the event.

This season, for the first time, the competitive cheer gym will offer a special needs team for its annual team win Summit, a competition taking place the first week in May each year. All special needs athletes are encouraged to take part, regardless of age or disability, and the only cost is the uniform and travel to Myrtle Beach for three competitions.
