Dorchester School District Two has named Raymond J. “Tripp” Aldredge, III as the new principal of Fort Dorchester High School to replace Principal Dr. Greg Harrison who will serve as District Executive Director of Middle and High Schools beginning with the 2018-19 school year.
Tripp Aldredge is currently principal of Jay M. Robinson High School in the Cabarrus County School District, Concord, North Carolina.
He started his career in education as Associate Director of Bands in Scotland County Schools, Laurinburg, North Carolina. In 2001 he became Co-Director of Bands and then Assistant Principal at Croatan High School in Beaufort, North Carolina.
Since 2010, Aldredge has served as a school administrator in Cabarrus County School District at the middle school and high school level.
Aldredge brings to this position extensive experience in all aspects of high school administration and programming. As principal at the secondary level, one of his focuses has been to create a culture of high student engagement that embraces diversity, encourages leadership, and empowers the community.
During his tenure on the administrative team at Central Cabarrus High School, the school experienced a dramatic increase in the student graduation rate earning the designation as a 2011 North Carolina School of Distinction.
He was named 2017-2018 Principal of the Year by the North Carolina Association of Scholastic Activities.
Tripp Aldredge graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in music education, percussion performance and also a master's of school administration.
