One of two new hotels coming to the Nexton community is now open for business. The new Residence Inn by Marriott celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting on Thursday.

Located at 1528 North Main Street in Summerville, the Residence Inn is located on the Nexton campus, adjacent to Nexton Square, a dining and shopping destination center.

The 96-suite Residence Inn Charleston Summerville will operate as a Marriott franchise, it’s designed to accommodate long stay business travelers and people that are moving to the area.

“Numerous businesses are here or relocating their businesses to Nexton, so the Residence Inn provides an extremely convenient space for meetings or traveling consultants to stay,” said Brent Gibadlo, Vice President and General Manager of Nexton. “The Residence Inn is a home-away-from-home for its guests, and has done a great job of weaving the Lowcountry and Nexton lifestyle into its offerings and amenities. We’re thrilled to have them on campus.”

Every suite has a full kitchen and the living room area contains large desks for business travelers. Amenities include a fitness center, multiple conference spaces, outdoor grills, fire pits and pool. A premier concierge is available offering personal grocery shopping and delivery services.

Nathan Stephens, opening general manager at the Residence Inn said the hotel had a soft opening about a month ago and has had good business during the first few weeks.

Also coming to Nexton in the summer of 2020 will be a Hilton Garden Inn-Homewood Suites Summerville Hotel and Lowcountry Event and Conference Center. The 208,000 square-foot hotel will become the tallest building in Summerville and Berkeley county. It will be eight stories high (93 feet).
