Summerville Baptist steeple restored

A crane lifts the steeple into place atop Summerville Baptist Church.

A gleaming steeple has been returned to its perch atop of Summerville Baptist Church. The 80-foot-high steeple was taken down for repairs in November but was put back up last week.

Originally built four decades ago, the steeple required repairs after it was damaged during Hurricane Matthew.

A post on the church’s facebook page said, “We’re happy to report that our steeple is again at home on the top of SBC, serving as a beacon of hope for generations to come.”
