Starting this month, Summerville CPW is charging a deposit fee for new customers.

In an effort to prevent losses, the public utility is collecting a $100 deposit. The deposit will be credited to the customer balance after two years of timely payments, or at account closing. A deposit will be held until the account closing if services are terminated for nonpayment. If a customer has previously discontinued service with an unpaid balance, the new service deposit shall be held for the duration of the account.
