Tamari Perrineau-Palmer has joined the reporting team at Summerville Communications.

Perrineau-Palmer is a recent graduate of South Carolina State University. She will be covering news in Dorchester and Berkeley counties for publication in the Journal Scene, Berkeley Independent and Goose Creek Gazette.

"We're glad to have Tamari in the newsroom," said David Kennard, executive of the three newspapers. "She brings with her a fresh approach and a curiosity to covering local news here in the Lowcountry."

A native of Mount Pleasant, Perrineau-Palmer said she is eager to learn more about the area especially from the perspective of a professional journalist. Her background is in marketing, broadcasting and video production. She said she aspires to hone the craft of storytelling through various media platforms including print and broadcast. She’s also passionate about acting and podcast production.

Perrineau-Palmer describes herself as “having a sense of humor and a sparkle of style.”
