Victor James Rizzo, 61, passed away on Wednesday morning November 13, 2019 after a lingering illness.
He was born in November 20, 1957 in Paterson, New Jersey to Leah Mae (Whitworth) Rizzo and the late Frank William Rizzo, Jr of East Paterson, New Jersey.
During high school he worked as a cook alongside his father at IHOP in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. He was a Class of 1975 graduate of Elmwood Park High School.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a member of the Plumbers Local Union #14, New Jersey, as a licensed plumber for over 30 years. He traveled across country for work available on the high rise buildings in Arizona and California and finally on the casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada where he settled to call home.
He was a loyal New York Giants football fan who also enjoyed occasional rounds of golf and road trips to the beach. He was happiest spending time visiting with family both locally and out of state.
He is survived by his wife of over 12 years, Sharon (nee Yarian) and her three children, sons: Darren (Sandy) Phillips of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mike (Tammy) Phillips of Phoenix, Arizona and daughter, Tammi of Las Vegas, Nevada; 11 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren. Also surviving is his mother, Leah, and sister, Katherine (Michael) Wade of Summerville, South Carolina and sister Fran (James) Heller of Waynesboro, Virginia.
He will be remembered lovingly and sadly by family and friends.
