The Newington and Summerville Y swim teams both claimed big victories Monday.

Newington traveled to Legend Oaks and defeated the Gators 304.5 to 232.5. With the win, the Tiger Sharks completed a clean sweep of their league opponents to clinch the 2019 regular season White League Championship. Newington improved to 5-2 on the season with a 4-0 mark in White League meets and is scheduled to close its regular season with a meet against Red League opponent Coosaw Creek July 3.

The Summerville Y defeated Fort Johnson 285-250 to improve to 4-3 with a 4-0 mark in Yellow League meets to capture the Yellow League Championship. The Stingrays have a non-league meet at Ashborough scheduled for July 3.

Snee Farm has clinched the Red League Championship and enters its final meet of the season against James Island with a 7-0 record with a 4-0 mark in league meets. Sha-Mel-Lon has clinched this year’s Blue League Championship. The team enters its final meet of the season at Belle Hall with a 7-0 record and a 4-0 mark in league action.

Coosaw Creek enters action July 3 with a 4-3 record, but with a 1-3 mark in Red League meets. Ashborough also enters July 3 with a 4-3 record, but with a 1-3 mark in Blue League meets.

Pine Forest enters action July 3 with a 1-6 record and a 1-3 mark in Yellow League meets. Legend Oaks enters July 3 with a 1-6 record and a 1-3 mark in White League meets.

After the head-to-head meets wrap up this week, all 20 teams that compete in the association’s summer swim program will come together for a championship meet (City Meet) July 12-14 at the Goose Creek City Pool located at the Crowfield Golf and Country Club.
