Battery soccer camp
The Charleston Battery is offering multiple youth soccer camps this summer. Sessions for camps for boys and girls age 7-13 are scheduled for June 17-21, July 15-19 and Aug. 5-9 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at MUSC Health Stadium. Cost is $195 per session. A five-week skills camp for boys and girls age 7-18 who are not CBSC players is also scheduled for June 24 through Aug. 1 at the CBSC Summerville Complex. Cost for the five-week camp is $150. Alligator hunting lottery
The deadline to apply for the South Carolina 2019 Public Alligator Hunting season lottery drawing is 5 p.m. June 15.
A $10 nonrefundable application fee is required to apply for the Public Lands Hunt. A randomized computer drawing based on a preference point system will determine the selection of hunters. Unsuccessful applicants will receive a preference point for use in future alligator lottery hunts. Tag fees, if selected, are $100. Additional fees apply for nonresident applicants.
This year’s public season will begin at noon on Sept. 14 and run until noon on Oct. 12.
By law, the fees collected are used to support the Alligator Management Program’s research and management activities, and for conservation of the American Alligator in South Carolina.

Green Wave Youth Basketball Camp
The annual Green Wave Youth Basketball Camp for rising third-graders through rising ninth-graders, male and female, is scheduled for June 17-20 at Summerville High School.
The camp will run Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to noon with a cost of $100. The camp is designed to offer players an affordable basketball experience that provides tools to improve skills while also allowing them to have fun.
Camp staff includes Green Wave Boys Head Coach David Long, SHS assistant coaches and returning Green Wave players who will teach not only the principles of basketball, but also of sportsmanship, leadership and citizenship.

Little Patriots Basketball Camp
Registration is open for the Little Patriots Basketball Camp. Geared for boys age 7-14, the camp is scheduled for June 24-26 at Fort Dorchester High School’s main gym. Sessions will run from 8 a.m. until noon and include daily guest speakers. Participants will receive instruction from FD Boys Basketball Coach Jacob Smith and other coaches in the area. Instructional drills will be ran by the FD Boy’s Coaching Staff, Mentoring Program, and varsity basketball players. Cost is $40 per camper. For more information, contact Smith at 803-837-0605.
Town of Summerville Sports
Registration is open for 2019 summer youth soccer with the Town of Summerville. Practices will start in early June. Games will be played Monday through Thursday evenings and/or Saturday mornings beginning in mid-June at Jerry Blackwell Sports Complex at Gahagan Park. This is the Town’s newest sports program.
