Championship Meet July 12-14 in Goose Creek.

Swim titles will be up for grabs this weekend in Goose Creek.

The Coastal Carolina Aquatic Association will close its 2019 summer swim season with its championship meet (City Meet) July 12-14 at the Goose Creek City Pool located at the Crowfield Golf and Country Club.

All 20 teams that compete in the association’s swim program will come together for the championship meet, where medals will be awarded for each event in every age group.

Last week severe thunderstorms that moved through the area interfered with several association meets. Some teams were looking to get their final regular-season meet in early this week while others decided to just cancel their final meet and focus on preparing for the championship event. However, all the regular-season league titles had already been decided prior to last week’s storms.

The Newington Swim Team had completed a clean sweep of its league opponents to clinch the 2019 regular season White League Championship. Newington entered this week with a 5-2 record with a 4-0 mark in White League meets.

The Summerville Y had already clinched the Yellow League Championship. The team entered this week with a 4-3 record with a 4-0 mark in Yellow League meets.

Snee Farm clinched the Red League Championship and entered the week with a 7-0 record with a 4-0 mark in league meets.

Sha-Mel-Lon clinched this year’s Blue League Championship. The team entered this week with a 7-0 record and a 4-0 mark in league action.

Leagues won’t matter this weekend as teams from all the leagues will compete for the same points and prizes.
