Nick Chambers is poised to make the most of his senior season with the Green Wave.
The inside linebacker in his second season as a starter for the Summerville varsity team. Last season he was the team’s second leading tackler with 102 total tackles and 10 tackles for a loss. He also had an interception and forced a fumble.
Summerville coach Ian Rafferty said Chambers made the most of the offseason even though team training was limited.
“He did a great job during the offseason even when he wasn’t with us,” Rafferty said. “He put on a lot of weight. He is a lot thicker than he was last year and looks good.”
Chambers is the top returning tackler for his team this season. Coaches expect him to pick up right where he left off in 2019.
“He is a physical guy who isn’t afraid to get in there and smack someone around,” Rafferty said. “He has a high football IQ and diagnoses plays very well. He gets to the football and brings some intensity when he gets there.”
